Ireland's Bumblee's
Early Bumblebee
A small bumble that nest in colonies underground and
plays an important role in pollinating berry flowers.
On the Island of Ireland we have 21 bumblebee species, all distinct and all under threat from a decline in habitat and feed sources. Each bumble is unique in its behaviour and feeding habits and this can be seen in their different sizes, shapes and facial structures.
A bumblebee isn't 'just' a bumblebee. They are individuals that play an important role in nature.
