Ireland's Bumblee's
Northern White Tailed Bumblebee
A white tailed bumble bee species that is found in Northern regions. It was only identified as a unique species in Northern Ireland in 2007.
On the Island of Ireland we have 21 bumblebee species, all distinct and all under threat from a decline in habitat and feed sources. Each bumble is unique in its behaviour and feeding habits and this can be seen in their different sizes, shapes and facial structures.
A bumblebee isn't 'just' a bumblebee. They are individuals that play an important role in nature.
