Ireland's Bumblee's
Red tailed Bumblebee
A common but in decline species of bee. With a very red bum this bee will feed on flowers from Spring to Autumn.
On the Island of Ireland we have 21 bumblebee species, all distinct and all under threat from a decline in habitat and feed sources. Each bumble is unique in its behaviour and feeding habits and this can be seen in their different sizes, shapes and facial structures.
A bumblebee isn't 'just' a bumblebee. They are individuals that play an important role in nature.
